WOW!!! What a huge turnout we had for the 8 & under assessment!! All the kids did a great job listening to the coaches and a great job swimming. Thanks so much to everyone. The coaches were very pleased with our group of swimmers. If your swimmer was placed in the Minnow group or the 8 & under swim team group, they will begin practice tomorrow from 4:00 to 4:45 pm. Guppies will report back to practice on Tuesday, June 1. If you are unsure of your child’s placement, please let me know. Also, please remember to bring a photo copy of your swimmer’s birth certificate as soon as possible if this is your first season on the team.

Also, tomorrow is the last day to be fitted for a team suit. Please make it a priority to come by the pool between the hours of 4:00 and 5:30. These suits need to be tried on for size. If you purchased a suit at registration, make sure your swimmer has tried it on to check the size.

We will practice Monday through Friday until June 2.

Swim team kicks off the 2010 season on Monday!

Fly your Stingray flags & wear a Stone Lake shirt to school on Monday.

All swimmers ages 8 and younger need to come to the pool at 3:15 pm on Monday, May 17th for the swim assessment to determine group placement for the 2010 season.

If you’ve never been on the team before, this is the summer to give it a try! Come on Monday and register to be part of the fun.

Practice schedule May 17th – June 2nd (Monday – Friday)

8 & under 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm

Minnows 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm

9 – 10 4:45 pm – 5:30 pm

11 & up 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Guppy practice will begin on Tuesday, June 1. Guppy swimmers should come on May 17th to complete registration and for the swim evaluation.

Swim Team Families:

Make plans now for SAIL Night at the Greenville Drive game on Monday, June 14. All SAIL teams will parade around the field before the game. We will have a team block of seats. Tickets are $5 each (make checks payable to Stone Lake Swim Team). Deborah Elgin will be taking up money for tickets at practice next week.

There are two more opportunities for members of Stone Lake Pool to receive credit for their $60 annual maintenance fee by participating in a member work day.

Saturday, May 8, 2010 8 AM -12 PM – We will be weeding, cleaning up debris, repairing the split rail fencing and painting the announcement board. Please bring weed eaters, hoes, shovels, post hole diggers, leaf blowers and any other implements you have.

Saturday, May 15, 2010 1 PM -5 PM – Our main focus will be to pressure wash the pool deck and lower parking lot and to clean deck chairs. Bring your pressure washers and hoses.

The Low Country Boil originally scheduled for this Friday, May 7, 2010 has been cancelled. Please plan to attend our Adult Beach Party on May 22, 2010 6:30 PM – until.

Beach music, hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine included. Cost is $10 per couple. This will be a great way to kick off the 2010 pool season. Meet our newest members and reacquaint yourselves with friends you’ve missed since last summer.

Greetings Stone Lake Community Club Members:

We are less than 6 weeks away from opening day at Stone Lake Pool. Work is progressing on the new baby pool, we have installed new pavers at the entrance to the clubhouse and the front gate and we are finishing grading work that will improve drainage to protect our pool deck.

I want to encourage those who have not yet attended a member work day to join us in May as we have three additional opportunities to receive credit for your annual $60 maintenance assessment.

• Sunday, May 3rd, we will have the 2nd annual women’s planting day. Ladies will be planting annuals at the entrance to the pool, in planters on the pool deck and sprucing up the property.

• Saturday, May 8, 2010 from 8 AM to 12 PM. Activities will include repairing the split rail fence around the parking lot, brush removal and weedeating.

• Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 1 PM to 5 PM – Activities will include pressure washing the pool deck. Cleaning up the storage closet in the clubhouse, cleaning the ice maker and cleaning the cabana.

Swim Team Families,

Because so many of you have contacted us saying that the suit you purchased at registration did not fit, we will hold another team outfitting day next Sunday, April 25 from 1:30 to 3:30 at the pool. It is very important that your swimmer be with you to try on the suit. This year’s suit is a different style than our previous suit and does not fit the same way. If you bought a suit at registration, please have your swimmer try it on and make any changes necessary on April 25. We can only exchange a suit if it is in the original box and has the tags attached. We will place another order after next Sunday. Our supplier cannot guarantee suits ordered in May will arrive in time for our first meet on June, 3.

For those of you who could not be at registration last week, you can also complete your swim team registration forms on April 25.
